Private Mentoring BOD Style
March 12, 2014
After the BOD Conference we were inundated with queries about my own Private Mentoring service. I love that design professionals like you, found the conference helpful! I am thrilled that some of you want to work one-on-one with me. I am keen to make a difference in your business and your life!
A question that comes up frequently during inquiry conversations is: What’s the difference between Coaching and Private Mentoring?
In my experience (more than 12 years working with coaches one-on-one), coaching is about reinforcing or changing skills and behaviours. The focus is typically on uncovering or unleashing the power of the coachee. Coaching can be powerfully motivating. You all know how much I love my coach.
The key difference with Private Mentoring is this: the mentor (in this case, me) works directly in your field and has direct knowledge of solutions to your day-to-day challenges. As a private mentor, I am not “coaching” you to uncover solutions as much as I am recommending solutions that work for me (and for hundreds of others).
Private Mentoring is prescriptive.
BOD offers coaching and mentoring through our seminars, conferences, books, webinars and programs—all designed to keep you part of a community that is already successful. It’s about learning skills that make you more successful and even offering CEU credits in some cases.
Private Mentoring is for the individual who wants to fast track growth and profitability.
