EP 082 | Kimberley Seldon on Client Talks – Keep In Touch

October 15, 2018

Listen Now

Hear what a client has to say about keeping in touch, building a relationship, and the heartbreak that comes from working with a designer whose integrity goes MIA.

In this episode we learn:

  • it’s reassuring to clients to know you are thinking about them, during and after the project
  • a client’s perspective on some unsuccessful designer relationships
  • having a healthy rapport with the client is vitally important but it does not substitute for a job well done
  • there’s a distinction between a corporate holiday basket and a spontaneous check-in call

Design Intervention

Kimberley suggests: Interview current and past clients to find out how you are doing. They are the main authority on your performance.

Jane is a former client of Kimberley Seldon Design Group. In this episode she shares her insights on staying in touch with clients before, during and after the project. She also shares stories from working with other designers. Kimberley is her fourth designer (hopefully her last). She had pretty good experiences with two others. However, a very poor experience with a local designer who is still in business. *sigh

Jane’s allowed us to use a photo of her home, rather than a headshot of her.
