If you’ve been working with residential clients for any length of time, it’s likely you’ve thought to yourself that this work would be perfect, if only I didn’t have to deal with clients! Well, working with builders and developers does allow you to sidestep the immediate desires of the end consumer, however, you still have a client…the builder. Business of Design® member and podcast host, Crystal Collinson shares the ins and outs of this specific niche of interior design and decorating.
In this episode we learn:
- tight budgets and timelines are unavoidable
- networking allows you to make connections with the right builders
- although there isn’t an end-user customer, there is a client—the builder
- the builder sales/presentation center is actually “retail interior design”
DESIGN INTERVENTION
Design should solve problems, not create them. Our job is to solve a problem for our clients, and when something does not go as planned.
