About Cathy Tonks

Cathy’s love for design, color, fabrics, and texture stem from her first career of 16 years in the bridal industry. To her surprise, when she and her husband launched a construction company, a whole new world opened up for her. She returned to school at American River College in Sacramento to obtain a degree in Interior Design.

In 2005, she opened her firm Designs with You in Mind INC, specializing in design-build projects. In 2009, she joined a design group called Distinctive Design Group—a design collaborative buying group that expanded her resources by a lot. Cathy’s superpowers are managing her team to help her create spaces the bring out the best in her clients. She has such a passion to create spaces for her clients that reflect who they are and the way they live. She is grateful for the gifts that have been given to her that allow her to have that vision.

Rebecca Ward is CEO and Principal Designer at one of Sacramento’s leading interior design firms for modern living.  She is an award winning, certified interior designer offering a worry-free experience to her clients. Specializing in fresh, contemporary spaces; her focus is to bring purpose, beauty and inspiration to every interior. She received her BA in Interior design from CSU, Sacramento and founded her company, Rebecca Ward Design, in 2007 to enable her to fully pursue her passion for design.

Rebecca enjoys continually contributing to the community and culture of Sacramento’s design scene through mentorship of interns and design students and supporting her colleagues by being the advocate for Business of Design™.
