Listen Now
It happens to all of us—project or career overwhelm. It might be too many items on the to-do list, or maybe you don’t have enough help. You might have too many jobs, or not enough jobs, or the right number of jobs but a project that is suffering from bad luck setbacks. While there are many catalysts to overwhelm., spotting the symptoms early can help you turn things around.
In this episode we learn:
- separate facts from thoughts and start feeling better immediately
- make strong decisions to avoid decision fatigue
- embrace discomfort by naming and noticing sensations in your body
- be aware of negative self-talk
- notice where you seek a distraction from doing the task ahead
DESIGN INTERVENTION
Success is built on a pile of failures. We have to be willing to get it wrong in order to learn the lessons that help us get it right. The only reason to be afraid of the failure is because of what we will say to ourselves on the other side of it and what we will make it mean about our potential for future success. When we understand that failure is the path to success and learn to allow it as part of the process, the world opens up to us.
