Getting published is still the dream for many design professionals, but there’s more to life than print. Digital coverage and social media campaigns that target your ideal clients are a worthwhile way to get noticed.
In this episode we learn:
- narrow your goals to a specific publication
- research publications to determine best submission practices for the editors
- a perfect pitch email includes the number of images, summary of project and what makes the work stand out
- reach out to editors and ask what they want you to submit for consideration
- always proofread your pitch
- know the publication and pitch them what they want
DESIGN INTERVENTION
“Do it before they ask.” When Kelli first started at RUE, she didn’t wait for instructions but instead took initiative and sought out tasks that would help the company grow. Instead of waiting for guidance, she carved her own path.
