Listen Now

We all know it takes more than talent to make it in this business. BOD™ member, Maria Viola-Kuttruff reminds us of the value of discipline—how to use it when it matters.

In this episode we learn:

  • trust your instincts when you hear or see a red flag
  • the majority of tasks we do, as designers, aren’t that exciting
  • avoid working with anyone who doesn’t share your ability to be disciplined
  • always let people know if you are running late, even by 5 minutes
  • aim for polite direction rather than a question when you want something done

Design Intervention

First off, know thyself! Next, no project is better than a bad project and no client is better than a bad client.
