For too long, many of us have acted as if the purpose of our life is to fuel our business, when in fact, it’s just the opposite. Your business should be fueling your life, and funding your lifestyle. No business can do that successfully unless it’s run efficiently and effectively. In this episode Kimberley shares her top 10 Best Business Practices.
In this episode we learn:
– systems create and maintain order
– pre-qualifying clients leads to less time on the phone, more time spent in meaningful projects
– why impeccable integrity delivers a good night’s sleep
– how evaluating your current practices allows you to make better decisions
– why firm deadlines can free up valuable time
Take Aways
Start where you are.
Many of you reach out to us and say you are overwhelmed. “15 Steps? I can’t even return all the phone calls I need to. How will I make time for all of this?”
Our response? “How will you survive if you don’t make time?” But don’t despair. Start where you are.
You can’t implement everything today. So, pick one thing. One thing that really gives you grief and resolve to change that one thing. It might be how you bill the clients. Or, it might be your policy around collections. It might be adding your rate to your website and creating a new in-take, pre-qualifying script for potential clients.
The point is: do something. Anything. Something small will lead to something larger.
